A mysterious and remarkable photographer: Vivian Maier
When I was reading today's post about coffee table books on the blog LatteLisa I remembered I wanted to do a post about a photographer of which I want to buy a book very badly when her work is published (probably this years Fall). Her name is Vivian Maier. Perhaps you've heard about the incredible story of how more than 100.000 of her photo's were just recently discoverd in tucked away boxes. If not, I strongly advice you to watch the video below and take a look at more of her work. After her death it turned out this mysterious woman was not only a Chicago nanny for 40 years, but also an incredibly talented street photographer from the '50's - '90's. Her work is the epitome of what holds me captivated. It is SO remarkable and breathtaking. If you want to know more about her, her photo's and the man who did this discovery, John Maloof, visit Vivian Maier's blog and the Vivian Maier Prints Inc. website.
